finally an update!

hi guys! finally an update eh...

i'm back in kuching now. the seats in air asia are terrible, they force you to sort of hunch over, putting undue pressure on your back and making you feel like you are falling face forward.

anyway, i have a suggestion. Instead of all of use keeping separate blogs and stuff, some of us whom rarely update, why don't we create one common blog that we all can post into. That way we don't have to read so many blogs. we can create one where we all know the password and we can post stuff. I see that most of the readers of the blogs are the same old people anyway...

or we can just use june's blog as the common blog or something. I think most of us are reading hers now anyway, and commenting there. wat u think? it can be like our website last time

Huge fish

I went to a mini lake of sorts(ok ok, mining pond la) to fish at the end of my holiday(which was miserable because of was sick the whole time). I didn't get anything but take a look at the monster that was caught by one of the anglers there!

I put my slipper(size 10) there for scale, and apparently this is ONLY a 4kg fish. The guys there told us that a 20kg behemoth had been caught there as well!

wow!

apartment video

Here is a link to a youtube video of the apartment that i'm buying.

this is the type A apartment though, as they don't have the show unit for type B. But you can get a general idea

Le Horreur!

My car suddenly decided to die on me...

It started jerking and bucking like a raging bronco. Whenever I braked or slowed down, the revs started going really low and if i turned on the AC it would just die. Even with pedal to the metal, the car just refused to move and was shaking and dying.

I drove it carefully to the mechanic and after a half day of checking, he suspected it was the fuel pump. It costs 900 to change the fuel pump! I asked him if he was sure, but he said that he couldn't guarantee it was the fuel pump, but that he had checked out all other things that could be checked.

So i gave him the go ahead, only to be told a few hours later that the problem is still there! And to make things worse, they found water in my fuel tank... After draining the fuel tank and refueling, the problem was STILL there! Then he called around 6:30 and said that they managed to find one problem, the ignition coil. So tomorrow he is going to try to replace it with a spare ignition coil that he has and see if it makes things better.

I just wasted 900 changing the fuel pump which didn't fix anything, now i might have to change the ignition coil, and the labour charges...etc. I am having a bad 3 days right now...gaaaaah

update!

the website has been updated with features and floorplans for tropics!

http://www.dijayacorp.com/project_detail186.asp?articleid=186&zoneid=14&t_status=14

anyway, before you start asking me why i didn't want type A or B(you will understand if you see the floor plan).

I don't like A, because it is narrow and rectangular. When i saw the show unit, although it had nice interior design, i jsut
felt a bit claustrophobic in there. The living room has only 1 panel with window(although its big floor to wall window).

I don't like type c because the windows allow you to only see straight! the V shaped design means that the other apartments
are in your way.

So type B, inspite of its 2 flaws, mainly the evening sun and the elevator is still mroe appealing to me because of the
two big windows in the living/dining area. Also the living/dining area seems bigger because of the open kitchen style.

Also, the 2 bedrooms are connected to each other, so if i want more bedroom or living room space, i can just knock down the walls.

BIG news!!!

Ok, this is gonna be a major piece of news that may surprise some of you.

Anyway, i'll just cut to the chase... I have purchased an apartment!
Only a small one, but a bit expensive... 218k!

It is part of a project called tropicana city, where the apartments will be on top of a mall(tropicana mall).

The name of the apartment is called the tropics. Go to this link to have an overall view of the tropicana city project

http://www.dijayacorp.com/project_detail138.asp?articleid=138&zoneid=14&t_status=14

The tall V-shaped buildings are the apartments, the one i bought is facing the other side of the V(the sharp part of the V).

More info about the project, the tropics info is only around the 6th page of the pdf.

The apartment i got is only 675 square feet! But the design is pretty well done with lots of windows so it will feel more spacious.

The only negatives are that it is facing the evening sun and that it is right behind the lift. The apartment is only the 25th floor out of 29 though, so i guess there won't be that many lifts going past my apartment.

here is the floor plan for the apartment:

As you can see its quite small, but i think well designed. At least the 2 rooms are next to each other so i can bash down the wall and make it 1 room if i want to. Or make the living room bigger. Anyway, it is just nice for a bachelor

Actually, i would have wanted the loft unit(pic on page 7 of the pdf), but i can't afford the installment(almost 2k per month). So i had to settle for one of the smaller units. I chose this one because it has a better design with many windows which will make it seem more spacious and to enjoy the view from the 25th floor! The only problem would be heat from the evening sun, so i have to make sure to have good blinds or some sort of tinting.

Anyway, the facilites are pretty good there. Besides the fact that you are living above a mall(they plan to make the mall more upscale with la bodega, alexis, mph, starbucks and carrefour, rather than like amcorp!), they have two tennis courts, one 40m lap pool with jacuzzi and wading pool. Gym, squash court, jogging track, laundromat, concierge...etc. Also the apartments are freehold which is a bit hard to find. The best thing about the place are the facilities and the convenience. If you are cooking something and run out of eggs, carrefour is just an elevator ride down! Want to watch a movie, go to the cineplex down there! I guess the reason why its so expensive is the lifestyle. Other apartments are going for 196k for 1000 square feet! hehehe, but naturally they don't have all the conveniences.

For buying the apartments during the soft launch, they gave a 10k discount, 2 free aircons, 1 free carpark, 800rm of astro subscription and waived the smp fee.

Anyway, this was a big step for me. I was quite worried about it as it was a huge commitment, but i prayed and felt that it was the right step. It was a whole new world with terms liek BLR, smp, mrta...etc that i had never heard before in my life.

Also, i couldn't have done it without the support of my family as they were very supportive. I thought that i would have to convince them to let me buy it...heheheh.

Anyway, i hope you are not too shocked...heheh cos i still am myself. If you want more pics and stuff just ask!

got a new phone!

yay! i've just bought a new phone, a Nokia N73. I was contemplating getting this or the sony ericsson k800, but decided to go with the nokia because it uses a symbian OS. In other words, it is upgradable with software applications and most importantly games! The camera is also quite OK, although the k800 is better.
